Well, that’s a wrap on this years Pantomime – it has gone by so quickly in a flash of Songs, lots of laughter and a huge dose of silliness…Oh Yes it has!!!
This years Pantomime tour was the busiest one we have had and the team have been having fantastic feedback. Don’t take our word for it though, please see some highlights below:

“We had 2 excellent performances of Jack and the Beanstalk. The pupils and staff really enjoyed the singing, dancing and sensory bags with various props. Well done to the team.”

Our team have performed Pantomimes at Schools all over London, Surrey and Hampshire (and as far as Nottingham) this December and January. Fun was had by the Team, Students and the Teachers.

I am incredibly proud of all the hard work that our team has put in to ensure that the magic of Theatre has been spread far and wide. We have also reached a lot of Students with additional needs who, ordinarily, may not be able to access a Pantomime. Our use of Makaton and sensory bags make our show accessible to all and we are extremely proud of the work we do in Special Needs Schools across the South.

We will soon be updating you all soon on Next Years show. Stay tuned to find out which classic Pantomime we will be touring with next year. We cannot wait to bring our show to Schools, Corporate events and Theatres next Christmas.

Jack and the Beanstalk Pantomime 2022/23

Jack beanstalk NT final

We are very excited to announce our brand-new show that will be touring Schools, events and corporate Christmas parties in Dec 2022 and Jan 2023. We will again be touring around London, Surrey and Hampshire. Once again, we will also be offering a virtual performance too. This years show is…Drum roll please… Jack and the Beanstalk!!!

We have decided to adapt this classic fairy-tale into our Christmas Pantomime for Schools. With all the regular songs, comedy and audience participation you can expect to be taken on a race against time for Jack to save the day.

Jack will need your help to retrieve the Giants golden egg before it is too late and the Baroness throws him out of his family home. With the help of his best friend, and the boys and girls (of course), Jack will need to work quickly to stop the Baroness and keep the Giant happy.

Our 3 actors will arrive and have everything with them to deliver a stunning performance, to delight the Children and their grown-ups. We have an entire version dedicated to Special Needs Schools – which ensures that no matter what additional needs the children may have, they can access and enjoy the magic of Pantomime.

This years show will be bigger and better than ever! But don’t take our work for it, here is a feedback from last years show “Puss in Boots”:

“Many thanks for 2 wonderful performances of Puss in Boots for our pupils and staff. I have had lots of very positive feedback from lots of staff and pupils.

We will definitely be booking for next Christmas. Wishing you all a merry Christmas and a happy new year.”
– Mr Innes, Headteacher at SEN School in Basingstoke

Virtual Pantomimes for Schools and Corporate Events

virtual panto 2

Last Christmas wasn’t usual (to put it mildly), but if we have discovered anything from the current situation it is how to adapt. This is exactly what we did in December as we offered our Virtual Christmas pantomime for Primary Schools, Special Needs schools and Corporate Christmas parties. Here we take a look at how it works and what it means for our future School Pantomime tours.
Performing virtually was certainly a very different experience for our actors and the audience – it turned out to be a massive success and a lot of fun – in a unique way. We performed from a state of the art (Covid safe) studio with a team of technicians to run all the techy stuff – that we as actors have very little clue about!!! Ensuring the smooth running of the entire show.
We had bookings with Primary Schools, Special Needs Schools and Corporate clients across the UK, Europe and Worldwide. Through the use of technology we were able to ensure that the show was as interactive as if we were actually there – making sure the Children and their families feel involved in the show and ensuring we achieve “active screen time” rather than “passive”. We booked in lots of shows throughout December and performed for thousands of families (Around 800 was our record for 1 performance!!!). We worked closely with each of our Clients to make the show personal to them, including specific jokes and shout-outs.
We adapted the show to make it work for camera’s and on a screen rather than live – which felt strange to begin with but we soon got into it and really enjoyed the relationship you can create with the audience even though they may be hundreds of miles away.
Moving forward I feel that there will be more call for Virtual Christmas Pantomimes in 2021 and beyond as the reach it has is unparalleled – in particular for any Corporate clients that operate across the UK or the World as they can get everyone together in “one place” at the same time.
This is why we will be offering our Virtual Pantomimes again in 2021 and if you are a School, Special needs school/ Charity, Corporate client or anyone looking to organise a Virtual pantomime – please do get in touch: info@playhouseparties.co.uk.
